DoD Modeling & Simulation Conference

Date: May 1 - 4, 2006
Summary: The Department of Defense (DoD) M&S Conference is the seminal conference bringing together government and military executives, strategic planners, and senior technical managers to enable the DoD M&S community to develop a common view of the state of M&S practice, expose members to the broader M&S community needs (shortfalls, issues, and challenges), and examine M&S gaps associated with policies, procedures, and practices within DoD. The conference also serves as an important forum for discussing and coordinating future plans, goals, and programs within the DoD M&S community. This conference will be held in conjunction with the following forums:

  • Army M&S Conference
  • Navy Modeling and Simulation Office Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM)
  • Air Force M&S Conference
  • Connections Conference
  • Combined M&S Standards Steering Group (MS3G)

The DoD M&S Conference will be divided into two parts. The first part of the conference will focus on the Joint perspective to include an in-depth assessment of the M&S "State of the Practice" as well as a technical exchange on cross-cutting M&S issues. The second part of the conference will emphasize the Component-specific perspective. The conference agenda will include presentations by Senior Government leaders and representatives of key DoD M&S programs.

72nd MORS Symposium

Date: June 22 - 24, 2004
Summary: The purpose of the Military Operations Research Society is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of classified and unclassified military operations research. To accomplish this purpose, the Society provides media for professional exchange and peer criticism among students, theoreticians, practitioners, and users of military operations research. These media consist primarily of the traditional annual MORS symposia (classified), their published proceedings, special mini-symposia, workshops, colloquia and special purpose monographs. The forum provided by these media is directed to display the state of the art, to encourage consistent professional quality, to stimulate communication and interaction between practitioners and users, and to foster the interest and development of students of operations research. In performing its function, the Military Operations Research Society does not make or advocate official policy nor does it attempt to influence the formulation of policy. Matters discussed or statements made during the course of its symposia or printed in its publications represent the positions of the individual participants and authors and not of the Society.
